‘Beyond the Glass Ceiling’ is the name of a networking event organised jointly between the RIDT and the Malta Chamber and which raised funds for breast cancer research at the University of Malta. The event took the form of a discussion, involving the participation of two women who made a name in their particular fields, and touched on female role models, the definition of success and the road towards gender equality. The event took place at the Exchange Building in Valletta, house of the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry.
Professor Eleanor Scerri, an evolutionary archaeologist working at the Max Planck Institute in Germany, and Dr. Joanna Delia, a medical doctor, a business woman and a patron of the arts had a conversation with Ms Sarah-Lee Zammit from the RIDT.
Ms Marisa Xuereb, President of the Malta Chamber welcomed the guests and introduced the subject before presenting a donation of €1,000 to Mr Wilfred Kenely, CEO of RIDT, who gave a brief overview of the role of the Trust, particularly in securing funds for cancer research projects at the University of Malta.
