RIDT Payroll Giving Scheme

RIDT Payroll Giving Scheme

The Research, Innovation & Development Trust (RIDT) at the University of Malta is proud to offer the Payroll Giving Scheme, a voluntary initiative designed to support research and innovation through regular donations from staff members.

This scheme is a relaunch of the Staff Contribution Scheme which was launched in 2014 and which already consists of a continuing growing number of accademic and technical staff. We are immensely grateful the support of those already on our payroll scheme.

Thanks to this giving-back initiative, in 2023, we launched the RIDT Doctoral Students Conference Grants, providing financial support to PhD students whose research is accepted for presentation at international conferences. These grants, awarded and managed in collaboration with the UM Doctoral School, offer up to €1,750 to partially cover the students’ expenses. All grants are funded by the RIDT Payroll Scheme. Thank you for making this possible!

How It Works

  • Voluntary Contributions: Staff members at the University of Malta and Junior College can choose to make a regular donation of a small amount of money, which will be automatically deducted from their salaries.

  • It will cost you less. Payroll donations are taken from your gross salary before tax, so your money will go even further, which means that it costs you less.

  • Impactful Giving: These contributions help fund various research projects, scholarships, and initiatives aimed at advancing knowledge and innovation.

  • Easy Participation: Joining the scheme is simple and straightforward, making it easy for staff to contribute to the growth and development of research at the University of Malta.

Why Contribute?

  • Supporting Research: Your contributions directly support critical research projects across various fields, including medical research, environmental studies, and technological advancements.

  • Making a Difference: Every donation, no matter the size, plays a vital role in fostering innovation and driving progress at the University of Malta.

  • Community Impact: By participating in the Payroll Giving Scheme, you are part of a community committed to enhancing the quality of education and research in Malta.
