The magic of sharing: Lidl Malta collaborates for progress in medical research
The supermarket chain partners with the Research Innovation & Development Trust for medical advancement with a donation of €1 for every Deluxe Panettone Classic sold.
This holiday season, Lidl Malta clients can experience the magic of sharing firsthand. By choosing a Deluxe Panettone Classic (1000g) from Lidl Malta, they are not only indulging in a delicious festive treat but also directly contributing to healthcare innovation. Lidl Malta, the leading supermarket chain in Malta, has partnered with the Research Innovation & Development Trust (RIDT), a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering research and innovation in Malta. For every Deluxe Panettone Classic (1000g) sold, Lidl Malta will donate €1 to RIDT. These funds will be used to support critical medical research projects that have the potential to improve healthcare outcomes and save lives.
“At Lidl Malta, we believe in giving back to the community. Health and well-being are our top priorities, not only for our team members but also for the people we serve. This partnership with RIDT is a testament to our commitment to social responsibility. We are proud to support such a worthy cause and contribute to the advancement of healthcare in Malta.” said Owen Micallef, Lidl Malta Director.
Wilfred Kenely, Chief Executive Officer for the RIDT went on to say, “It is always noble that while we are enjoying our Christmas festivities, we think of ways to give something back to society. This is exactly what this collaboration between LIDL and the RIDT is doing. When it comes to research, whether it is medical, technological, or otherwise, no amount is small or big enough. By participating in this scheme, we will be ensuring that while we are savouring delicious Panettone, we are also supporting the much-needed research at the University of Malta.”
The campaign, which will run until stocks last, marks a significant step towards advancing healthcare in Malta. By combining Lidl Malta’s reach and the RIDT’s expertise, the aim is to accelerate medical research and develop innovative solutions to pressing health challenges. Every €1 donated will directly contribute to vital research projects.
